what to expect
We are so glad you are considering Grass Lake Baptist Church. We understand that visiting a new place can be a daunting experience, so we want to put you at ease by anticipating some questions you may have.
Here is what you can expect at our services:
Our services allow our members opportunities to worship God by serving, singing, and praying together. Another way we worship God is through our giving. We receive an offering at every service, but as our guest, you should feel no obligation to participate. Think of the service as our gift to you.
We do not have a dress code at GLBC for members or guests. Some people come in traditional Sunday dress; some, in more casual attire. We want you to feel welcome no matter which you choose.
10:00 AM, Sunday School
At 10:00 AM, age groups divide for classes. Children three years to high school go downstairs; Younger couples go downstairs to the kitchen area. Older folks assemble in the auditorium upstairs. During all of our Sunday services, we provide a nursery for infants and toddlers 0-2 years. Feel free to take your baby to the nursery downstairs when you arrive. In fact, you might want to arrive a few minutes early to situate your little ones. If you would like some help, any of us would be glad to assist you.
11:00 AM, Morning Service
You can expect a traditional service with heart-warming music. Then our pastor preaches a practical message designed to strengthen our relationships with God and give us insights into biblical living. Our pastor has chosen the King James Bible for his messages; if you don’t have one, you can find a copy under one of the chairs in front of you.
Children three years to sixth grade remain downstairs for primary and junior churches.
6:00 PM, Evening Service
The Sunday evening service is not a repeat of the Sunday morning service. You will hear new music and a completely different message. Sunday nights at GLBC generally have a little more casual, “family” feel. We hope you will find the experience refreshing.
We also provide a nursery on Sunday evenings for infants and toddlers 0-3 years and a class for children 4-12 years old so that the kids get biblical instruction at their level and so that you can enjoy the service without distractions.
7:00 PM, Evening Bible Study
On Wednesday evenings, we meet in the auditorium for a few songs and a brief Bible study. Then we take prayer requests, and together or in groups, we spend some time lifting the hurting and needy to the Lord in prayer.
